Bio
Hartmut Schmider is a user support person at HPCVL. In 1986, he obtained his "Diplom" (equivalent to a Master's Degree) in Chemistry from the University of Konstanz in Germany. IN 1988, he went on for his PhD research at Queen's University in Kingston. His Dissertation in 1994 focused on Reduced Electronic Density Matrices. After a two-year stay at the Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby, he returned to Queen's University to work with Axel Becke on the field of Density-Functional Theory. In 2001, he joined HPCVL as a Scientific Computing Specialist.
Dr. Schmider and Dr. Gang Liu will be giving a workshop on Posix multithreading for parallel computing.
