George Almasi

Bio

The slides for George Almasi and Ettore Tiotto's invited talk at HPCS2010 may be found here.

George Almasi is a Research Staff Member at IBM T.J. Watson Research. He has spent the last 9 years of his life looking for that elusive programming model that will make IBM's high performance computers easy to program. Thus he evolved from MPI and messaging libraries through array languages to UPC, co-array Fortran, X10 and the Asynchronous Partitioned Global Adress space programming model. The goal is still out of reach.

George holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (2001).
